Our Commercial Terms

DJG usually propose that we work under a simple form of services contract to start with. This can be adapted or expanded as the work progresses depending on future roles. We use a format based on a Consult Australia standard, or use a client preferred standard, adapted as needed to individual assignments. This contract would include the scope of work, schedule, personnel, fees and expenses and approach based on a proposal, as amended and agreed, and would include clauses for exclusivity, non-disclosure/confidentiality and limits of liability.

After our initial discussion with a Client, the basis for a contract can be agreed. DJG can send you a pro-forma or respond to a client based document. We fully understand the need for budget discipline. Generally, we prefer to be paid lump sums plus GST plus expenses (e.g. travel, accommodation, out of pockets) for defined scopes or phases of work, followed by monthly remuneration for follow-up work over time, plus agreed lump sums for specific tasks. We can work on a daily fee basis, which may be appropriate at the start of a project until scopes and roles are defined.

If our services were to proceed beyond an initial phase (with a scope of work), then we would be prepared to consider some other arrangement. We would enter into a non-disclosure agreement as may be necessary and pass on this obligation to our people, as appropriate. Before we start, we would confirm that we do not have any conflict of interest or declare any potential to the client’s satisfaction.
